Role Overview
We are hiring a Head of Trust to build and lead the Bank's trust, fiduciary and custody business, and to serve as the Bank's senior Fiduciary Officer, accountable for its fiduciary activities under 12 CFR Part 9.
In the pre-opening period, this is a hands-on build role. You will design the trust operating model, fiduciary policies and custody controls, help complete the pre-opening requirements for final charter approval, and build the team that will run the function. From opening day, you will run the Bank's fiduciary and custody operations safely as volumes, clients and asset types grow.
You will own the fiduciary and custody function as its first line. The Chief Risk Officer and the Chief Compliance Officer and BSA/AML Officer provide independent oversight of it.
Key Responsibilities:
Trust and fiduciary administration
- Serve as the Bank's senior Fiduciary Officer and lead the trust and fiduciary team in administering all fiduciary and custody accounts.
- Own account acceptance, onboarding, administration, and periodic account review in line with 12 CFR Part 9.
- Own fiduciary recordkeeping, including account records, asset segregation and ledger accuracy.
- Build and maintain the fiduciary policy suite, including controls over conflicts of interest, self-dealing, and commingling of fiduciary and non-fiduciary assets. This includes transactions involving Fuze Global affiliates, such as use of Group trading, OTC or other services for fiduciary accounts.
Custody and safekeeping
- Own the control framework for custody and safekeeping of client digital assets, including key management, wallet operations, segregation of client assets, and reconciliation.
- Run custody and settlement operations for a platform that operates around the clock, including exception handling and service standards.
- Maintain safeguards over fiduciary assets and client cash held by the Bank.
Pre-opening and regulatory
- Help complete the fiduciary and custody elements of the pre-opening requirements for final OCC charter approval.
- Represent the Bank's fiduciary function to the OCC, including examinations, information requests, and remediation.
- Maintain examination-ready documentation and evidence for fiduciary audits and supervisory reviews.
Third parties and affiliates
- Manage relationships with sub-custodians, banking partners and technology providers supporting fiduciary and custody activities, consistent with OCC third-party risk management expectations.
- Ensure intercompany arrangements with Fuze Global that support trust activities are documented, monitored and consistent with the Bank's fiduciary duties.
Resilience and incidents
- Own continuity and incident response for fiduciary and custody operations, lead triage and resolution of incidents, and ensure control gaps are remediated.
Business partnership and governance
- Advise product, operations and commercial teams on fiduciary and custody implications of new products, asset types and client integrations before launch.
- Report to the Board and senior management on fiduciary activity, controls and exceptions.
- Define the target operating model for the trust function and build the team as the Bank scales.
- Serve as a member of the Bank's executive leadership team.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of experience in trust, fiduciary or custody operations at a U.S. regulated financial institution.
- Direct experience at a national bank, federally chartered trust company, or state trust company, operating under OCC or state supervision.
- Deep working knowledge of 12 CFR Part 9 and OCC fiduciary examination standards.
- Hands-on experience with trust or custody account administration, including account acceptance, asset segregation, periodic review and fiduciary recordkeeping.
- A track record of building or running control-intensive operations in a regulated banking environment.
- Experience with OCC or state examinations of fiduciary activities, including remediation.
- Experience reporting to a bank Board of Directors or its committees.
- Experience managing sub-custodians and critical vendors under regulatory third-party risk expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams in a regulated environment.
- Willingness to operate hands-on and without established infrastructure through the pre-opening and early operating periods.
- A bachelor's degree, U.S. based, and able to satisfy the regulatory fitness and propriety review, background investigation, and notice requirements applicable to senior executive officers of a newly chartered national bank.
Strong preferences
- Prior designation as Fiduciary Officer, Trust Officer, or equivalent at a national or state trust bank.
- Experience at a de novo bank or trust company during chartering, pre-opening or early operation.
- Experience with digital asset custody, stablecoin operations, or blockchain-based settlement.
- Familiarity with the GENIUS Act and emerging federal stablecoin frameworks.
- Experience at a trust bank within a technology-led or fintech group.
- Background in institutional custody, payments or cross-border settlement.
- Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA) or equivalent credential.

Pay Range and Compensation Package
